Expansion of the technology-driven TGL may involve integrating a women's division.
This was stated by Mike McCarley, the CEO of TMRW Sports, which he co-founded with TGL partners Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.
During the CAA World Congress of Sports meeting in Nashville, McCarley mentioned that the expansion of the six-team TGL would begin with one team and progress from there. He also mentioned that there is significant interest from potential franchise owners.
Additionally, the possibility of including LPGA stars in a women's league is being considered.
Alexis Ohanian, owner of TGL's Los Angeles Golf Club, is advocating for the addition of female golfers. As the husband of Serena Williams, winner of 23 tennis Grand Slam tournaments, he is a strong supporter of women in sports.
\"I've been pushing for the LPGA deal for a while now,\" Ohanian stated, according to Sports Business Journal. \"They have shown a lot of interest. It just takes time, and I am not at liberty to reveal any news.\"
McCarley confirmed that Ohanian has the support of the TGL team.
\"It's no secret that we are working on it,\" McCarley said. \"Alexis has been a valuable thought leader for us in this area, and I believe most of our team owners are also in favor of it.\"
