Wesley Bryan to challenge suspension for involvement in LIV event

Wesley Bryan announced on Wednesday that he intends to challenge his PGA Tour suspension for participating in an LIV Golf influencer event earlier this month.
\"It has been a challenging few weeks for us,\" Bryan expressed in a YouTube video. \"It has been a tumultuous ride for everyone involved.\"
In the video, Bryan, 35, is joined by his brother, George. The duo's \"Bryan Bros Golf\" YouTube channel, which primarily features videos of trick shots, has amassed over 550,000 subscribers as of Wednesday.
Bryan has competed in 134 PGA Tour events, securing his sole victory at the RBC Heritage in 2017.
While expanding their online business, the Bryan brothers have taken part in the PGA Tour's Creator Classic events for golf content creators.
However, it was Wesley Bryan's involvement in a similar format for PGA Tour competitor LIV Golf that has caused controversy. In the video, he confirms that he has been suspended for participating in LIV's \"The Duels\" at Doral earlier this month.
Bryan, who refers to his indefinite suspension as a \"minor disagreement,\" explains his reasoning for taking part in the event at Doral.
\"We saw this as an opportunity that we couldn't pass up. Our ultimate goal with the Bryan Bros has always been to merge professional and YouTube golf, and this was a chance to make that dream a reality,\" he stated.
According to Golf Digest, Bryan was warned that he could face suspension if he participated. PGA Tour regulations state that members who participate in an LIV-sponsored event could be banned for one year.
Bryan has declared that he will appeal the decision, as \"The Duels\" was not a typical LIV event.
\"I want to make it clear that I do respect the PGA Tour's authority, but due to the ambiguity in the rules and regulations, I have the right to challenge their decision, which I fully intend to do,\" he declared. \"I believe that the rule was not intended to cover content creation on YouTube, but rather organized, professional, high-level golf events.\"
