Authorities Report Apparent Suicide of Ex-LSU Wide Receiver Kyren Lacy

Breaking News: 24-Year-Old Former LSU Wide Receiver Kyren Lacy Passes Away

Former Louisiana State University wide receiver Kyren Lacy has sadly passed away in Houston at the young age of 24, as reported by Baton Rouge TV station WAFB on Sunday.

According to a family member, this news comes just 11 days before Lacy was hoping to be selected in the upcoming NFL draft.

Lacy was facing charges of negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless operation of a vehicle following a car accident in Chackbay, Louisiana on December 17, 2024, which resulted in the death of a 78-year-old man. He turned himself in the following month and was released on bail of $151,000.

WAFB stated that a grand jury was scheduled to review evidence in the Lacy case starting on Monday.

During his time at LSU, Lacy had an impressive record of 58 receptions for 866 yards and nine touchdown catches, which tied for the lead in the Southeastern Conference in 2024.

In total, Lacy played in 64 games for both Louisiana (2020-2021) and LSU (2022-2024), finishing his collegiate career with 162 catches for 2,360 yards and 26 touchdowns.
