"Pirates Put 3B Ke'Bryan Hayes (Back Injury) on 10-Day Injured List"

Ke\'Bryan Hayes, the third baseman for the Pittsburgh Pirates, is set to be placed on the 10-day injured list due to inflammation in his lower back.

As a result, the Pirates have made several corresponding moves on Monday. They have called up right-hander Hunter Stratton from Triple-A Indianapolis, added outfielder/first baseman Billy McKinney to the roster from Indianapolis, and designated right-hander Ryder Ryan for assignment.

Additionally, Pittsburgh has brought back outfielder Joshua Palacios from his rehab assignment for a hamstring injury. He has been reinstated but has been sent back down to Triple-A.

Hayes, who is 27 years old, has gone hitless in his last three games for the Pirates. This season, in his fifth year in the majors, he has a batting average of .233 with four home runs and 25 RBIs in 96 games.

Stratton, who is 27 years old, has appeared in 34 games for the Pirates in his second season in the majors. He has a record of 2-1 with one save and an ERA of 3.68.

Ryan, who is 29 years old, struggled in his last outing for the Pirates. He gave up three runs on four hits in 2 2/3 innings of relief in a 10-3 loss to the Seattle Mariners. In his first season with the team, he has a record of 1-0 with an ERA of 5.66 in 15 appearances out of the bullpen.
