"Announcement: A's to Promote Promising Hitter Nick Kurtz"

According to reports from various sources, the Athletics are set to promote one of their highly-touted prospects, Nick Kurtz, sometime this week.
Kurtz, a strong-hitting first baseman, was chosen as the fourth overall pick in last year's MLB Draft after playing for Wake Forest.
Despite his young age of 22, Kurtz has already made his way up to Triple-A this season and has been performing impressively for the Las Vegas Aviators, with a batting average of .321, seven home runs, and 24 RBIs in just 20 games.
The call-up is expected to occur after the Athletics' first game of a three-game series against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday, where they will most likely face left-handed pitcher Patrick Corbin. As a left-handed hitter, Kurtz will be a valuable addition to the team.
Kurtz has been recognized as one of the top prospects in Triple-A by multiple sources, despite only recently joining the league this spring.
In his 147 plate appearances across three levels of minor league play, Kurtz has maintained a .336 batting average, hit 11 home runs, and recorded 37 RBIs, all while maintaining a .689 slugging percentage and displaying a knack for drawing walks (22).
The Athletics will also be facing the Rangers on Wednesday and Thursday, giving Kurtz the opportunity to make an impact in multiple games.
