"New York Mets Dominate Phillies and Complete Perfect 7-0 Homestand in MLB Recap"

Starling Marte's game-winning RBI single in the 10th inning secured the Mets' 4-3 triumph over the visiting Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday, completing a perfect homestand for New York.
The Mets' undefeated 7-0 homestand ranks as the second-longest in franchise history, only behind the 10-0 stretch in April 2015. The 2015 team went on to make the franchise's most recent World Series appearance. The Mets also improved their record to 18-7, the best in the major leagues, second only to the 1986 World Series champions' 20-5 start in franchise history.
After the Phillies took a 3-2 lead in the 10th inning with Nick Castellanos' RBI single, Max Kranick (2-0) entered the game with the bases loaded and managed to get two flyouts. Pete Alonso tied the game with an RBI double against Jordan Romano (0-1) before Marte's single over second base brought in Alonso for the game-winning run.
Mets starter David Peterson allowed two runs and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings, while Phillies ace Zack Wheeler gave up two runs on five hits and two walks with nine strikeouts in six innings. Alec Bohm went 3-for-5 and Edmundo Sosa added two hits for the Phillies.
Rays 7, Diamondbacks 6 (11 innings)
Kameron Misner and Yandy Diaz each had three hits, including run-scoring doubles in the 11th inning, as Tampa Bay edged Arizona in Phoenix.
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 11th, Eric Orze got Geraldo Perdomo to ground into a double play to end the game and earn his first career save. Pete Fairbanks (2-1) recorded two outs in the 10th inning.
Corbin Carroll hit two home runs and drove in three runs for the Diamondbacks. Drey Jameson (0-1) gave up two runs, one earned, in the 11th inning.
Yankees 5, Guardians 1
Carlos Rodon allowed one unearned run in seven innings and Aaron Judge had two more hits to boost his batting average to .415 as the Yankees avoided a sweep by the Guardians in Cleveland.
Rodon (3-3) scattered four hits and struck out eight while walking two. He retired 14 of the final 15 Guardians he faced. Judge started the game with an RBI triple and finished 2-for-4 with a walk. Paul Goldschmidt added three hits and two RBIs for the Yankees.
Guardians starter Luis L. Ortiz (2-3) gave up four runs on five hits and five walks in 4 1/3 innings, striking out eight.
Tigers 6, Padres 0
Reese Olson pitched 7 1/3 innings of shutout ball and Justyn-Henry Malloy supplied a solo home run and RBI double as Detroit blanked San Diego to take two out of three in the series.
The Padres managed just two Jose Iglesias singles off Olson (3-1), who recorded seven strikeouts with just one walk. Gleyber Torres set the tone for the Tigers with a first-inning home run, while Dillon Dingler added a two-run homer and Riley Greene contributed two hits and an RBI.
San Diego starter Kyle Hart (2-2) gave up two runs and five hits in 4 1/3 innings. The Padres were shut out in a regular-season game for the first time since July 19, 2021, by the Cleveland Guardians, a span of 87 games.
Braves 4, Cardinals 1
Eli White hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning to lift Atlanta to a win over St. Louis in the rubber match of a three-game series.
