Mike Trout, star of the Angels, departs due to discomfort in his left knee

Star outfielder Mike Trout, who has been a consistent presence in the All-Star game, was taken out of the Los Angeles Angels' matchup against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday afternoon due to an unspecified injury.
In the fourth inning, Jo Adell substituted for Trout. In his first two turns at bat, Trout managed a single and a groundout. However, during the latter at-bat, the 33-year-old appeared to slightly strain himself while sprinting to first base.
Trout returned to his position in right field for the third inning, but Adell took his place at the plate with two runners on and two outs.
Prior to his departure from the game, the frequently injured Trout had played every inning of the season and recorded a .179 batting average and .726 OPS with nine home runs and 18 RBIs in 29 games.
Trout, a three-time MVP in the American League and an 11-time All-Star, has a career total of 387 home runs, 214 stolen bases, and 972 RBIs. However, he has not played in more than 120 games in a season since 2019.
