"Former Rangers Manager Chris Woodward Named 1B Coach for Dodgers"
The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced the appointment of Chris Woodward, former manager of the Texas Rangers, as their new first-base coach.
Woodward will be taking over for Clayton McCullough, who was recently named the manager of the Miami Marlins.
A native of Los Angeles, Woodward previously served as the Rangers' manager from 2019 to 2022, before being let go after a record of 211-287. He also worked as an advisor for the Dodgers' player-development team last season and was their third-base coach from 2016 to 2018.
In addition to his coaching career, the 48-year-old also played 12 seasons in the MLB for five different teams. He had a batting average of .239 and hit 33 home runs with 191 RBIs in 659 games. Woodward spent his first six seasons (1999-2004) with the Toronto Blue Jays and returned to the team in 2011.
