Preview and Prediction

The Vegas Golden Knights are aiming to increase their winning streak to three on Friday night as they face the struggling Seattle Kraken in a Pacific Division clash.

Vegas is coming off their first victory on the road (1-3-1), a 4-2 win against Edmonton on Wednesday to kick off a two-game road trip.

Noah Hanifin scored two goals, Jack Eichel contributed a goal and two assists, and Ivan Barbashev had three assists for the Golden Knights, who have won six of their last seven games.

"It was a good win for us, especially after struggling on the road lately," Hanifin commented. "We've been playing really well at home, and when you're playing at home, you just have to grind out those games, play solid defense, and that's what we did in Edmonton.

"I thought we had a great defensive effort, and that's how you win games on the road, so it was a big win for us."

Mark Stone has recorded points in seven consecutive games (four goals, eight assists) after scoring a goal in the win over the Oilers. Tied with Eichel for the team lead in assists with 15, Stone has a team-high 21 points in just 13 games.

With his assist on Hanifin's first goal, William Karlsson extended his point streak to five games (two goals, four assists).

Barbashev leads Vegas with seven goals in 13 games this season.

In goal, Adin Hill has a record of 6-2-0 with a .882 save percentage and a 3.01 goals-against average in eight starts. In five career games against the Kraken, Hill has a record of 3-2 with a .901 save percentage and a 2.81 GAA.

Last season, Vegas won three out of four games against Seattle, with Hill in net for a 5-4 overtime victory on March 12, 2024.

The Kraken will begin a six-game homestand against the Golden Knights, hoping to avoid a fifth consecutive loss.

Seattle, who has been off since Tuesday, is searching for their first win since October 29th, when they defeated the Montreal Canadiens 8-2 on the road.

The Kraken are coming off a 6-3 loss to the Colorado Avalanche at home and have a record of 2-3-1 on their home ice.

Jared McCann and Matty Beniers each recorded a goal and an assist, while Jaden Schwartz also scored for Seattle, who have lost seven of their last eight games (1-6-1).

"Hopefully, we can understand how we need to play and compete every night in order to be successful," said Kraken coach Dan Bylsma. "I think each game has been a different lesson, but that should be the main theme.

"It's time to learn these lessons now, not wait until later in the season. It's a tough time and tough lessons to learn, but we have to learn them and accept them."

McCann leads the team with 10 assists and 16 points in 14 games, while McCann and Jordan Eberle are tied for the team lead in goals with six each.

In goal, Joey Daccord has a record of 4-3-1 in eight starts with a 2.76 GAA and a .915 save percentage. In two career games against the Golden Knights, Daccord has a record of 1-1-0 with a .944 save percentage and a 2.00 GAA.

Friday's game marks the first of three meetings between these two teams this season.
