Michigan NASCAR Cup race rescheduled for Monday due to postponement

Michigan NASCAR Cup Race Rescheduled for Monday Due to Postponement

The Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Mich. had to postpone the NASCAR Cup Series race until Monday at 11 a.m. due to unfavorable weather conditions, causing the red flags to be raised on Sunday evening.

At the time of the delay, Chase Elliott was leading the race with Martin Truex Jr. and Bubba Wallace trailing closely behind, with 51 laps completed in the second stage. The first stage was won by Ryan Blaney.

Unfortunately, rain has been a constant disruption throughout the entire NASCAR weekend in Michigan. On Saturday, qualifying had to be cancelled due to the poor weather, resulting in Denny Hamlin being awarded the pole position.

Originally scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, the race was delayed for approximately 2 1/2 hours due to the weather conditions.
