Ferrari appoints former Mercedes engineer Loic Serra as new technical director
Ferrari appointed Loic Serra, a former engineer from Mercedes, as the technical director of its Formula 1 team on Thursday.
The 52-year-old Frenchman will begin his role on October 1st, taking over for Enrico Cardile as the chassis technical director.
According to a press statement released on Thursday, Serra will report directly to team principal Fred Vasseur.
Enrico Gaultieri will continue in his position as Ferrari's technical director for the power unit.
In July, Cardile left Ferrari to take on a senior technical role at Aston Martin.
Serra had been with Mercedes for over ten years. He will reunite with driver Lewis Hamilton when the seven-time world champion joins Ferrari in 2025.
