The Formula One contract for the Mexico City Grand Prix is expected to be renewed until 2028.

On Thursday, Clara Brugada, the head of government for Mexico City, announced the upcoming three-year extension.

When asked about the future of the race, she stated, "Next week, we will be signing the agreement with F1."

After a 20-year absence, the Mexico City GP returned to the F1 calendar in 2015. Since losing government support in 2018, it has been funded privately.

The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez will host the 2025 race on October 26. The defending champion is Spain's Carlos Sainz.
