Veteran New York Islanders forward Cal Clutterbuck declared his retirement from the NHL on Wednesday following 17 seasons.

Clutterbuck, 37, spent the past 11 seasons with the Islanders before taking a break during the 2024-25 season.

\"Hockey provided me with everything -- a purpose, a brotherhood, and a lifetime of memories,\" Clutterbuck expressed on Instagram. \"To (longtime linemates) Matt (Martin) and Casey (Cizikas) -- it was a privilege to battle alongside you every night. The bond we created means more than words can describe. And to the Islanders fans -- your enthusiasm, devotion, and affection made Long Island feel like home. Thank you all. On to the next chapter.\"
