The Ottawa Sun reported on Wednesday that Senators forward Nick Cousins will likely be out of action for six-to-eight weeks due to a knee injury.

According to the report, Cousins is receiving varying opinions on the seriousness of the injury.

The injury occurred during a knee-on-knee collision with Toronto Maple Leafs rookie Jacob Quillan in the first period of Saturday's game. Cousins did not return to the ice for the Senators, who ultimately won 2-1.

Cousins, who is 31 years old, has recorded 13 points (five goals, eight assists) in 47 games this season. He joined the Senators as a free agent in the summer after spending two seasons with the Florida Panthers.

Cousins, who won a Stanley Cup with Florida, has accumulated 193 points (76 goals, 117 assists) in 639 career games with seven different teams.
