"Sabres' Victory Sees Tage Thompson and JJ Peterka Both Record Hat Tricks in NHL Recap"
Tage Thompson and JJ Peterka both achieved a hat trick and an assist to lead the Buffalo Sabres to a 7-2 victory against the visiting Boston Bruins on Tuesday.
Thompson scored in each period to earn his seventh career hat trick and first of the season, while Peterka completed his first career hat trick with back-to-back goals in the third. This was the first time since January 2008 that the Sabres had multiple players record hat tricks in the same game.
Zach Benson scored a goal in the final minute, Dylan Cozens had two assists, and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 25 saves to help Buffalo break a two-game losing streak and win only their second game in six attempts.
Mason Lohrei and Brad Marchand each scored a goal and Jeremy Swayman made 26 saves for Boston, who had a record of 5-1-1 in their previous seven games.

Wyatt Johnston scored a natural hat trick, including the game-winning goal just 20 seconds into overtime, as Dallas came back to defeat Vegas in Las Vegas.
Johnston scored a short-handed goal in the second period and then tied the game at 11:54 of the third. In overtime, he completed his second career hat trick by finishing a two-on-one break with Roope Hintz, scoring on a give-and-go and securing the win. Hintz also had three assists and Mavrik Bourque scored for Dallas.
Vegas' Tomas Hertl extended his point streak to 10 games with a goal, while Jack Eichel and Pavel Dorofeyev each had a goal and an assist and Mark Stone had two assists. Adin Hill made 24 saves for the Golden Knights, who have a record of 2-1-2 in their last five games.
Jets 4, Canadiens 1
Kyle Connor scored twice and Gabriel Vilardi had two assists as Winnipeg won their fourth consecutive game by defeating the Montreal Canadiens.
Mark Scheifele also scored a goal, Rasmus Kupari scored an empty-netter, and Connor Hellebuyck made 24 saves for the Jets, who have a record of 15-5-3 since December 10th. Winnipeg currently leads the Western Conference with 73 points this season.
Juraj Slafkovsky scored for Montreal, who have allowed 12 goals in their last three games.

Landon Slaggert scored the go-ahead goal in his season debut as Chicago began their three-game Eastern Conference road trip with a win against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Slaggert, who was called up from the American Hockey League on Sunday, broke a 1-1 tie in the second period with his second career goal. This was only Chicago's sixth road win this season and their first since December 9th. Connor Bedard scored a power-play goal, Ryan Donato also scored, and Teuvo Teravainen scored an empty-netter for the Blackhawks.
Brayden Point scored his team-leading 28th goal for the Lightning, while goalie Jonas Johansson made 16 saves in place of Andrei Vasilevskiy, who was out due to illness.
Hurricanes 4, Rangers 0
Frederik Andersen made 22 saves, Andrei Svechnikov scored in the opening minute of the first period and the final minute of the second as Carolina pulled away for a shutout victory against the New York Rangers.
The Hurricanes won for the fifth time in six games (5-0-1), largely thanks to Andersen, who won his third straight game since returning from knee surgery. Svechnikov recorded his third multi-goal game of the season. Taylor Hall and Mikko Rantanen, who were both acquired in a three-team trade on Friday, also recorded their first points for Carolina.
The Rangers lost their second consecutive game after a 10-game points streak and suffered only their second regulation loss in their last 12 games (7-2-3). New York goalie Igor Shesterkin made 22 saves, but the Hurricanes were able to capitalize on mistakes made by the Rangers.
