"Penguins Acquire F Philip Tomasino from Predators in Exchange for 2027 Draft Selection"
The Pittsburgh Penguins obtained forward Philip Tomasino, a former first-round selection, from the Nashville Predators on Monday in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft.
Tomasino, 23, has recorded one assist in 11 games this year. He has accumulated a total of 71 points (23 goals, 48 assists) and 41 penalty minutes in 159 games over the past four seasons for Nashville, who drafted him 24th overall in 2019.
He is currently signed with an average annual salary of $825,000 at the NHL level and will become a free agent at the end of this season.
As a corresponding move, the Penguins have reassigned 23-year-old forward Sam Poulin to their AHL affiliate, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Poulin, who was selected 21st overall by Pittsburgh in the 2019 draft, has recorded one assist in six games with the Penguins this season.
