Oilers Trade Fourth-Round Pick for Vasily Podkolzin from Canucks

"Canucks trade Vasily Podkolzin to Oilers in exchange for fourth-round draft selection"

The Edmonton Oilers acquired forward Vasily Podkolzin from the Vancouver Canucks for a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft on Sunday.

Podkolzin, who was chosen 10th overall in the 2019 NHL Draft, recorded two assists in 19 games with the Canucks and 28 points (15 goals, 13 assists) in 44 games with the team's AHL affiliate last season. He also made two appearances in the playoffs with Vancouver but did not register any points.

The 23-year-old is embarking on the first year of a two-year, $2 million contract he inked with the Canucks on April 18. In his 137 career games, Podkolzin has accumulated 35 points (18 goals and 17 assists).

The fourth-round selection originally belonged to the Ottawa Senators, who traded it and Roby Jarventie to the Oilers in exchange for Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson in July.
