The Toronto Maple Leafs have inked a new deal with defenseman Jake McCabe, extending his contract for five years at an average annual value of $4.51 million. This announcement was made by the team on Monday.

McCabe had been in the final year of a four-year agreement he initially signed with the Chicago Blackhawks. However, he was traded to Toronto in February of 2023.

The 31-year-old McCabe was selected in the second round of the 2012 NHL Draft by the Buffalo Sabres.

So far this season, he has recorded three assists in nine games. Throughout his career, he has accumulated a total of 33 goals and 122 assists (155 points) in 586 games while playing for the Sabres (2013-21), Chicago (2021-23), and Toronto.
