'Knights ink F Brett Howden to 5-year, $12.5M deal'
Vegas Golden Knights forward Brett Howden inked a five-year, $12.5 million contract extension for the 2029-30 NHL season on Friday.
The 26-year-old has participated in 20 games this year and has tallied nine points. He and Ivan Barbashev are tied for second on the team with eight goals, trailing behind Pavel Dorofeyev (10).
Selected as the No. 27 overall pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2016 NHL Draft, Howden has played in 371 games for the New York Rangers (2018-21) and Knights, amassing 110 points (47 goals, 63 assists).
\"Over the years, I have definitely developed as a player on the ice and as a person off the ice,\" Howden stated. \"Having the opportunity to start fresh in a new place was the best thing that could have happened to me.

Howden was a member of the Stanley Cup-winning Knights team in 2023 and has recorded six goals and six assists in 32 playoff games.
