Kirill Kaprizov of the Wild to Undergo Surgery, Expected to Miss Minimum of 4 Weeks

Minnesota Wild standout forward Kirill Kaprizov requires surgery to mend a lower-body injury and is projected to be out of action for a minimum of four weeks.

Kaprizov made a comeback after missing 12 games and participated in his team's last three matches. He contributed an assist in each of the previous two games. However, the injury has been affecting him since December.

\"Therefore, I believe the best course of action is to temporarily shut him down, address the issue, and then bring him back at full strength,\" stated Wild's general manager Bill Guerin.

Guerin mentioned that Kaprizov, 27, is week-to-week and that his injury will not end his season.

Kaprizov leads the team in goals (23), assists (29), points (52), and rating (plus-19) in 37 games this season.

The recipient of the Calder Trophy as the NHL's premier rookie in 2020-21, Kaprizov has accumulated 382 points (183 goals, 199 assists) in 315 career games with the Wild.
