Cole Perfetti's power-play goal shattered a tie in the third period as the Winnipeg Jets maintained their flawless record with a 5-3 win over the Calgary Flames on Saturday.

The Jets are the ninth team in NHL history to start a season with eight consecutive wins.

Kyle Connor and Mason Appleton each recorded a goal and an assist, while Nikolaj Ehlers and Dylan Samberg also scored for the Jets, the only unbeaten team in the league. Goalie Eric Comrie made 26 saves.

Mikael Backlund, Rasmus Andersson, and Nazem Kadri responded for the Flames, who have now lost two games in a row. Goalie Dustin Wolf stopped 30 shots.

Bruins 4, Maple Leafs 3 (OT)

Brad Marchand scored in overtime with 2:34 remaining to give Boston the win after Toronto tied the game late in regulation.

The Bruins captain tapped in a rebound in the left crease after a slap pass from David Pastrnak from the right circle. Marchand and Pastrnak each had a goal and an assist, while Jeremy Swayman made 20 saves.

Matthew Knies and Morgan Rielly scored for Toronto, with Mitch Marner recording three assists. Knies scored just 35 seconds into the second period, while Matthews tied the game with 1:27 left in the third.

Predators 4, Blue Jackets 3 (OT)

Jonathan Marchessault's overtime goal gave Nashville their third consecutive win after starting the season with five straight losses.

Goalie Scott Wedgewood made 25 saves for his first win of the season and second career victory against the Blue Jackets. Daniil Tarasov stopped 29 shots but remains winless in three career appearances against Nashville.

Marchessault deked around defenseman Damon Severson and toe-dragged past Yegor Chinakhov before scoring his second goal of the season at 1:44 of overtime.

Lightning 3, Capitals 0

Andrei Vasilevskiy recorded his first shutout of the season and rookie Conor Geekie scored his first NHL goal as Tampa Bay blanked Washington in a battle of Eastern Conference contenders.

Vasilevskiy made 31 saves for his 35th career shutout, while his teammates blocked 19 shots. The Lightning earned their first shutout against the Capitals since April 2014. Geekie's goal in the third period gave his team a 3-0 lead. Mitchell Chaffee and Brayden Point also scored for Tampa Bay.

Rangers 2, Ducks 1

Jonathan Quick made 32 saves and Artemi Panarin extended his season-opening points streak to eight games as New York bounced back from their first regulation loss of the season to beat Anaheim.

The Rangers struggled to score until Panarin set up Ryan Lindgren for the game's first goal 4:13 into the third period. Will Cuylle added another goal for New York, while Olen Zellweger scored for the Ducks less than a minute later.

Flyers 7, Wild 5

Sean Couturier recorded a hat trick and two assists as Philadelphia defeated Minnesota in an exciting Saturday matinee. Travis Konecny had a goal and four assists and Rasmus Ristolainen netted the game-winner for the Flyers, who had not won in regulation in their first seven games.

The Wild had not lost in regulation in their first seven games before Saturday's back-and-forth defeat. Marcus Foligno scored twice for Minnesota, while Kirill Kaprizov contributed two assists.

Kings 3, Utah Hockey Club 2

Joel Edmundson scored his first two goals as a member of the Los Angeles Kings to help them defeat the Utah Hockey Club.

The 31-year-old defenseman, who signed a four-year, $15.4 million deal with the Kings in July, recorded his first two-goal game of his career. Clayton Keller and Logan Cooley scored for Utah, who have now lost three straight games.

Panthers 6, Islanders 3

Matthew Tkachuk scored his first two goals of the season to lead Florida to a comeback win over the New York Islanders.
