Inquiry: Goalie Yaroslav Askarov of Predators seeks to be traded

Highly-touted prospect for the Nashville Predators, Yaroslav Askarov, has requested to be traded and will not join the team's AHL affiliate, according to a report by ESPN on Monday.

The first-round pick from the 2020 draft is facing a roadblock in his career with Nashville, as the team recently signed veteran goaltender Juuse Saros to an eight-year contract worth $61.92 million in July.

Over the past two seasons, Askarov, who is 22 years old, has played in 92 games for the Milwaukee Admirals in the AHL, boasting a record of 56-29-6 with a save percentage of .911 and a goals-against average of 2.50.

During this time, he also made three appearances for the Predators, starting in two games, and recording a 1-1-0 record with a GAA of 2.58 and a save percentage of .914.
