"Hurricanes Goalie Frederik Andersen Sustains Injury in Game 4 Against Devils"

The Carolina Hurricanes' goaltender, Frederik Andersen, left Game 4 of the Eastern Conference first-round series after a collision in the crease with New Jersey Devils' right winger, Timo Meier, on Sunday in Newark, N.J.

At the time of the incident, the Hurricanes were leading 3-1. Meier entered the crease and extended his stick just after a shot by his teammate, Ondrej Palat, missed the net. Andersen was moving to the right when Meier, who seemed to be trying to stop, collided with him in the upper body.

As a result, Andersen fell into the net and Meier was initially given a five-minute major penalty. However, after review, the penalty was overturned.

Andersen, who had stopped six of seven shots, was replaced by Pyotr Kochetkov with 15:41 remaining in the game.

Less than three minutes after Andersen's departure, Meier scored against Kochetkov, bringing the Devils within one goal at 3-2.
