Sebastian Aho and Jalen Chatfield both notched a goal and an assist as the Carolina Hurricanes continued their winning streak with a 4-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday.
In the third period, the Hurricanes scored three times within the first seven minutes, securing their 12th win in 14 games. In their past three games, Carolina has outscored their opponents 12-2.
Philadelphia's only goal came from Ryan Poehling, but they have now lost two consecutive games after a stretch of 4-0-1. Ivan Fedotov made 33 saves for the Flyers, while Pyotr Kochetkov stopped 18 shots for the Hurricanes.
The score was tied 1-1 early in the third period when Aho stole the puck at the blue line, skated to the high slot, and took a shot that slipped through Fedotov and into the net.
Kraken 3, Predators 0
Brandon Montour had a goal and an assist, and Joey Daccord made 24 saves for his first shutout of the season as the Seattle Kraken defeated the Nashville Predators.
Daniel Sprong scored his first goal since returning to the Kraken, and Yanni Gourde added an empty-netter. Chandler Stephenson had three assists, and Jaden Schwartz contributed two. The Kraken finished their homestand with a 5-1-0 record, with Daccord earning all five victories. He did not play in their 2-0 loss to the New York Rangers on Sunday.
Juuse Saros stopped 33 of 35 shots for the Predators, who ended their road trip with a 1-2-2 record.
Stars 5, Sharks 2
Jason Robertson had a three-point game, with one goal and two assists, while Roope Hintz and Wyatt Johnston each had one goal and one assist to lead the Dallas Stars to a win over the San Jose Sharks.
Jamie Benn and Evgenii Dadonov also scored for the Stars, who have won four of their last five games. Goaltender Jake Oettinger made 21 saves.
Mikael Granlund and Jake Walman each scored for the Sharks, who have only won one of their last five games (1-2-2). Goalie Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 26 shots.
Maple Leafs 3, Golden Knights 0
Fraser Minten scored his first career NHL goal, and Joseph Woll earned his second career shutout as the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Vegas Golden Knights.
Woll made 31 saves to secure his first shutout of the season. William Nylander added a goal and an assist for the Maple Leafs, who have won three consecutive games. Pontus Holmberg scored an empty-net goal, and Mitch Marner and John Tavares each had two assists as Toronto won for the sixth time in seven games.
Adin Hill stopped 23 shots for the Golden Knights in the first game of their five-game road trip. Vegas has now lost two in a row.
Sabres 1, Kings 0
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen returned from an injury and made 23 saves, while Jason Zucker scored the only goal to help the Buffalo Sabres defeat the Los Angeles Kings.
Luukkonen, who missed two games with a lower-body injury, earned his sixth career shutout and improved to 4-0-0 since Nov. 5. Zucker tipped in Rasmus Dahlin's point shot on the power play just 38 seconds into the third period for his 200th NHL goal.
Jacob Rittich made 18 saves for the Kings, who have lost three of their last four games.
