'Evgeny Kuznetsov signs contract with SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL'

SKA St. Petersburg, the KHL team, announced on Wednesday that former NHL center Evgeny Kuznetsov has signed a four-year deal with them.
After spending 11 seasons with the Washington Capitals and Carolina Hurricanes, the 32-year-old Russian has returned home. The Hurricanes placed him on unconditional waivers two weeks ago in order to end his contract.
Kuznetsov had a total of seven points (two goals, five assists) in 20 games with the Hurricanes. He was acquired by them from the Capitals on March 8 for a third-round pick. During the playoffs, he had six points (four goals, two assists) in 10 games.
Before the trade, Kuznetsov had 17 points (six goals, 11 assists) in 43 games with the Capitals last season. He also missed some time while in the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program.
In his career with the Capitals and Hurricanes, Kuznetsov has recorded 575 points (173 goals, 402 assists) in 743 games. He was part of the Capitals' Stanley Cup-winning team in 2018.
