The Columbus Blue Jackets inked a deal with restricted free-agent forward Cole Sillinger for a duration of two years, worth $4.5 million, on Wednesday.
At the age of 21, Sillinger appeared in 77 games for Columbus last season, recording a career-high of 32 points (13 goals, 19 assists).
During the 2021 NHL Draft, the Blue Jackets selected Sillinger as the No. 12 overall pick. In his 220 games played, he has accumulated a total of 74 points (32 goals, 42 assists).
According to Blue Jackets' general manager Don Waddell, \"Cole Sillinger is a highly intelligent, versatile center who displays exceptional determination on both ends of the rink. Having already played over 200 NHL games before the age of 21, we are eager to witness his continuous development as a player. He is a crucial asset to both the present and future of this organization.\"
