Avalanche ink one-year contract with F Matthew Phillips

The Colorado Avalanche inked a contract with forward Matthew Phillips for a one-year period on Friday.

The details of the agreement were not revealed.

Phillips, who hails from Calgary, was selected in the sixth round by the Flames in 2016 and spent last season playing for both Washington and Pittsburgh.

The 26-year-old has registered one goal and four assists in a total of 34 games throughout his career with the Flames, Capitals, and Penguins.

In the 2022-23 season, Phillips was named an AHL All-Star after scoring 76 points (36 goals, 40 assists) in 66 games for the Calgary Wranglers.
