Titans General Manager Confirms No Plans to Trade First Overall Pick

The Tennessee Titans considered offers but ultimately decided not to trade away the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft.
During the team's pre-draft press conference on Tuesday, new Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi revealed that other teams had expressed interest in moving up, but "the entire organization" came to a unanimous decision to keep the pick.
"As we neared the end of the process, we came to the conclusion that we will be staying put," Borgonzi stated.
Borgonzi did not reveal who the Titans have their sights set on with the top pick, but it is widely speculated to be Miami quarterback Cam Ward. The franchise sent a large group, including team owner Amy Adams Strunk, to attend Ward's pro day.
In previous drafts, the Titans selected quarterbacks Malik Willis and Will Levis in 2022 and 2023 respectively. However, Willis was traded to Green Bay last August and it seems the team is ready to move on from Levis, who has a lackluster 5-16 record as a starter in the NFL.
This will be Borgonzi's first draft as a general manager, having previously worked in various scouting and front office roles for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2009-24.
The New York Giants, who hold the third overall pick, were one of the teams rumored to be interested in trading up to the top spot.
The first round of the NFL draft will take place on Thursday in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
