'Seahawks Fielding Inquiries Regarding Quarterback Sam Howell'

The Seattle Seahawks have received inquiries about potentially trading quarterback Sam Howell.
According to multiple sources, trade talks have been taking place and Seahawks general manager John Schnieder confirmed this to The Athletic. However, he did not go as far as to say that the organization is actively looking to trade the quarterback.
\"We are not at that point yet,\" Schneider stated.
Howell, who is 24 years old, did not see much playing time as a backup for Seattle in 2024. The previous year, he started 17 games for Washington. In 2023, as the primary starter for the Commanders, he completed 63.4% of his passes for 3,946 yards, with 21 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.
During the early days of free agency, the Seahawks signed Sam Darnold, arguably the top quarterback available, to a lucrative deal. They also added Drew Lock a week later.
Darnold, who is 27 years old, is coming off his first Pro Bowl season after a career year with the Minnesota Vikings. He set personal bests in completion percentage (66.2%), yards (4,319), touchdowns (35), and passer rating (102.5).
Lock, who is 28 years old, is returning to Seattle after previously serving as the team's backup in 2023. He started five games for the New York Giants last year, completing 59.1% of his passes for 1,071 yards and six touchdowns.
With Jaren Hall also on the roster, the Seahawks currently have four quarterbacks under contract.
Howell is in the final year of his rookie contract and is set to earn $1.1 million.
