'Rams Wide Receiver Demarcus Robinson Taken into Custody for Suspected DUI'
Shortly after scoring a touchdown on "Sunday Night Football," Demarcus Robinson, a wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence.
According to the police report, Robinson was driving a Dodge sedan at a speed exceeding 100 mph on US-101 in Woodland Hills, California at 5:13 a.m. on Monday.
Officers noted that Robinson displayed "objective signs and symptoms of alcohol impairment." He was given a citation and released to a "responsible party," as stated by the CHP.
The Rams have not yet released a statement regarding the incident, according to NFL.com.
During the Rams' 37-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in Inglewood, California, Robinson caught a 2-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter. He also had one other reception for 13 yards.
Robinson, who is in his ninth NFL season and second with the Rams, has recorded 26 receptions for 384 yards and six touchdowns in 11 games this year.
Selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth round of the 2016 draft from the University of Florida, Robinson spent six years with the team and helped them win the Super Bowl in 2019. He played for the Baltimore Ravens in 2022.
In his 141 career NFL games, with 62 starts, Robinson has caught 245 passes for 2,892 yards and 26 touchdowns.
