"Probation Exemption Granted by Court, Permits Travis Hunter Sr. to Attend Draft"

Travis Hunter Sr. was given permission to attend the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, where his son, who won the Heisman Trophy, is expected to be chosen among the top selections on Thursday evening.

Hunter Sr. was granted an exemption from the travel restriction as part of a three-year probation agreement following his arrest in 2023 for undisclosed charges, which carried a 90-day jail sentence. Although Hunter Sr. was released early, just days before his son received the Heisman, he was unable to attend the ceremony.

According to USA Today, Hunter Sr. will only be allowed to stay in his hotel and attend the draft events in and around Lambeau Field.

Travis Hunter Jr., who plays as a wide receiver and cornerback, made history by winning the Heisman Trophy while playing for Colorado. He is predicted to be chosen as the second pick by the Cleveland Browns or the third pick by the New York Giants.

Hunter Jr. did not forget about his father during the celebrations in New York, and even spoke to him directly during an emotional acceptance speech.

\"I want to thank you for all the times you couldn't be there, and for the times you were able to come and watch me play,\" Hunter Jr. said in December. \"From missing a few high school games to watching me on TV every weekend and coming to see me. It means so much to me. I know you wanted to be here and you couldn't, but trust me, I've got you. I'm bringing the trophy home. I love you.\"
