Myles Garrett, standout defensive end for the Browns, cleared to play against the Jaguars despite foot injury
Myles Garrett, the star defensive end for the Cleveland Browns, returned to practice on Friday in a limited capacity. He is expected to play in Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Garrett was absent from practice on Thursday due to a foot injury, which he claims did not occur during the team's Week 1 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. However, he did mention that he was dealing with the injury during the game.
When asked about the origin of the injury, Garrett refused to disclose any details and playfully mentioned Browns coach Kevin Stefanski.
\"I could tell you,\" Garrett said. \"And get yelled at by Kevin? So, I'm OK.\"
Garrett assured that the injury will not affect his performance against the Jaguars.
\"I wouldn't say it's something to worry about,\" Garrett said. \"It's something for us to manage and I'll be conscious of and a little cautious.\"
Garrett was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 after recording 14 sacks and four fumble recoveries.
On the other hand, standout offensive tackle Jack Conklin is listed as questionable after participating in limited practices throughout the week. He has been out of play since suffering a serious knee injury in the 2023 season opener.
Offensive tackle Jedrick Wills, who underwent season-ending surgery in 2023, has been ruled out. Tight end David Njoku was also ruled out earlier in the week by Stefanski.
For the Jaguars, cornerback Darnell Savage will not be playing due to a quadriceps injury. Defensive end Tyler Lacy and linebacker Caleb Johnson are listed as questionable with toe and back injuries, respectively.
