The starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, Jordan Love, believes he has a \"realistic\" chance of playing against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, despite not being able to practice due to a groin injury.

Love was unable to participate in Wednesday's practice and was limited to watching from the sidelines and using an exercise bike during the warm-up. He sustained the injury during the Packers' win over the Jacksonville Jaguars last Sunday and had to leave the game in the second half.

While not being able to practice is not ideal, Love remains optimistic about his chances of playing against the Lions, who currently hold a half-game lead over the Packers in the NFC North division.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur will ultimately make the decision on whether or not Love will play on Sunday, and as of Wednesday, he stated that it is a possibility.

LaFleur also mentioned that Love's condition has improved and they will continue to monitor it day by day. Love is determined to return to the field this week, even though the team has a bye week coming up. He understands that he needs to prove to LaFleur that he can protect himself on the field.

If Love is unable to play, Malik Willis will take over at quarterback. Willis has already filled in for Love during Weeks 2 and 3 when he was out with a sprained MCL in his left knee. He also entered the game last Sunday when Love got injured in the first quarter.

Love, who will turn 26 on Saturday, has thrown for 1,547 yards, 15 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in six starts this season. Willis, 25, has completed 29 of 39 passes for 380 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions in four games (two starts) for the Packers.

In addition to Love, the Packers were also without running back Josh Jacobs (ankle), cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee), and three starting offensive linemen during Wednesday's practice.
