"Ja'Marr Chase, Bengals Wide Receiver, Back on the Practice Field"
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja\'Marr Chase resumed practicing on Wednesday.
Onlookers shared videos online of Chase dressed for practice and carrying his helmet, walking alongside fellow wide receiver Tee Higgins.
Earlier in the day, head coach Zac Taylor was asked if Chase would take part.
\"We\'ll see,\" Taylor replied.
There was no confirmation of Chase's participation.
The 24-year-old was previously listed as day-to-day as the Bengals prepared to face the New England Patriots in their season opener on Sunday.
There was no indication of any progress in resolving Chase's contract dispute, which has kept him out of training camp and the preseason.
According to ESPN, Chase also attended a team meeting and negotiations for his contract are ongoing.
Chase is seeking a contract extension similar to that of his former LSU teammate Justin Jefferson, who recently signed a four-year, $140 million deal ($35 million per season), surpassing the $32 million per year earned by Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown.
Amon-Ra St. Brown signed a four-year contract worth $30.002 million per year with the Lions, and the Cowboys finally met CeeDee Lamb's demands last month, agreeing to a four-year, $136 million deal with $100 million guaranteed, ending his holdout.
Last season, Chase caught 100 passes for 1,216 yards and seven touchdowns. He is currently playing on the final year of his four-year rookie contract with a base salary of $1.055 million. The Bengals have a fifth-year team option for 2025 worth $21.8 million.
The fifth overall pick in the 2021 draft, Chase has recorded 268 catches for 3,717 yards and 29 touchdowns in 45 games with Cincinnati.
