'Falcons Ink Quarterback Easton Stick'

The Atlanta Falcons inked a contract with unrestricted free agent quarterback Easton Stick on Monday. The specifics of the agreement were not disclosed.
Stick, who is now 29 years old, spent the previous six years playing for the Los Angeles Chargers after being selected in the fifth round of the 2019 draft.
Throughout his career, Stick has appeared in six games and started four times in 2023 while Justin Herbert was sidelined with an injury. He has accumulated a total of 1,133 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception with a 64 percent completion rate.
The Falcons' decision to sign Stick comes amidst rumors that they may trade quarterback Kirk Cousins. Team owner Arthur Blank has stated that they would be content with having Cousins as a backup to Michael Penix Jr. in 2025, but they are open to considering a trade offer. However, Cousins has a no-trade clause that he must waive for any deal to be completed.
During the 2024 season, the Falcons benched Cousins in favor of Penix. As the new season approaches, Penix is the team's starting quarterback, and undrafted free agent Emory Jones is also on the depth chart.
