"Dispute Between 'Jets' Aaron Rodgers and Garrett Wilson Minimized"

'Jets' Aaron Rodgers and Garrett Wilson Minimize Alleged Disagreement'

Describing it as the contrast between what appears to be true and what is actually true, quarterback Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets referenced a lively discussion he had with receiver Garrett Wilson the day before. The topic was teammates working out the finer details of a specific play.

A video clip that gained widespread attention online showed the 40-year-old Rodgers, a four-time NFL Most Valuable Player, and the third-year receiver engaged in a brief but intense dispute on Tuesday.

\"We were just having a passionate conversation about the specifics of a situation that may not have involved either of us,\" Rodgers stated. \"G and I have a great relationship. We spend time together off the field. On the field, we have a mutual understanding of how things should be done. But when it doesn't go exactly as planned, sometimes there are difficult conversations that take place.\"

The players also appeared to have some tense moments on Saturday.

Wilson, who was the Jets' first-round draft pick in 2022 from Ohio State, also downplayed the disagreements.

\"For me, it's always a learning experience when we have these kinds of issues, regardless of how it may seem. I am a passionate and emotional person,\" Wilson explained. \"... In reality, these conversations are helping me improve for Aaron because he can make your life a lot easier. So, it's my responsibility to pay attention to the details, and he's been pushing me on those details.\"

Wilson accumulated 1,103 receiving yards in his rookie season and added 1,042 more in 2023.

Rodgers only played four snaps last season before suffering an Achilles injury. Jets coach Robert Saleh stated this week that Rodgers would not play in any of New York's preseason games.

Rodgers, who led the Green Bay Packers to a Super Bowl victory after the 2010 season, has thrown for 59,055 yards and 475 touchdowns in 19 NFL seasons.
