'Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott Updates on Injury Recovery: 'I've Reached My Desired Progress''
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott stated that he is making progress in his recovery from his season-ending hamstring injury.
In fact, Prescott confidently claimed that he could play in a game right now if necessary.
\"If I had to, I definitely could,\" Prescott said on Friday at the 35th annual Children\'s Cancer Fund gala. \"But my focus is on getting healthy for the long run, so I can play 17 or even 20 games when the time is right.\"
After signing a four-year, $240 million contract extension in September, making him the highest-paid quarterback in NFL history in terms of annual average value, Prescott only played in eight games before his injury.
With 11 touchdown passes and eight interceptions, Prescott was on track for one of his worst statistical seasons.
The 31-year-old quarterback revealed that he plans to participate in organized team activities to some extent.
\"I\'m getting closer to where I want to be, but I don\'t want to put a percentage on it,\" Prescott said. \"I plan on being involved in some, if not all, of the team activities coming up.\"
\"However, I also understand my age and what I\'ve been through. My focus is on being at my best in the fall, so I won\'t rush anything. But I\'m happy with where I am right now.\"
A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Prescott has a record of 76-46 in 122 career starts since being drafted by Dallas in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He has thrown for 31,437 yards with 213 touchdowns and 82 interceptions.
