Colts place DE Tyquan Lewis (elbow) on injured reserve

The Indianapolis Colts have placed defensive end Tyquan Lewis on injured reserve due to an elbow injury sustained during their victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
In addition, on Tuesday, the Colts (2-2) have signed defensive tackle Adam Gotsis to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and have also added cornerback Kelvin Joseph to the practice squad.
Lewis, who is 29 years old, will be forced to miss at least the next four games. His earliest possible return would be in Week 9 against the Minnesota Vikings on November 3rd.
Lewis had started all four games this season and has recorded 17 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks. Since being drafted by the Colts in the second round in 2018, he has accumulated 112 tackles, 15 sacks, 10 passes defensed, and one interception in 69 games (20 starts).
Gotsis, who is 32 years old, was elevated from the practice squad on Sunday and made one tackle in his Colts debut. He was a second-round pick by the Denver Broncos in 2016 and has 219 tackles, 10.5 sacks, and four fumble recoveries in 122 games (54 starts) with the Broncos (2016-2019), Jacksonville Jaguars (2020-2023), and Colts.
Joseph, who is 24 years old, was previously on the Colts' practice squad in Weeks 2-3. He was a second-round pick by the Dallas Cowboys in 2021 and has 39 tackles and one fumble recovery in 31 games (three starts) with the Cowboys (2021-2022), Miami Dolphins (2023), and Seattle Seahawks (2023).
