"Chiefs' Report: Harrison Butker Becomes Highest-Paid Kicker"

"Chiefs Reportedly Award Harrison Butker with Top Kicker Salary"

The Kansas City Chiefs have inked a four-year extension with kicker Harrison Butker, making him the highest-paid kicker in the NFL, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday.

Butker's new deal is worth $25.6 million, with $17.75 million guaranteed. This makes him the highest-paid kicker in the league, surpassing Baltimore Ravens' Justin Tucker's $6 million per season.

On social media, Butker expressed his excitement about the extension, saying, "There's no place I'd rather be than with the Chiefs. Excited to finalize a 4 year extension. To the Heights!"

Interestingly, Butker negotiated the deal on his own without the help of agents or lawyers, as reported by Schefter.

During the Chiefs' Super Bowl LVIII victory over the San Francisco 49ers earlier this year, Butker set a new record for the longest field goal in Super Bowl history. His 57-yard kick in the third quarter surpassed the previous record set by 49ers rookie Jake Moody just one quarter earlier.

Butker was originally drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft but has spent all seven of his NFL seasons with the Chiefs.

Throughout his career, he has made 89.1 percent of his field-goal attempts and 94.5 percent of his extra-point tries in 107 games.

Butker has also made field goals of 53 yards or longer in every season, including a 62-yarder in 2022.
