Detroit's defensive end Aidan Hutchinson was taken off the field in a cart during the third quarter of the Lions' game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday with a potentially serious leg injury.

Hutchinson, one of the top defensive players in the league, was hurt while sacking Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott in the Lions' first defensive drive of the second half.

Players from both teams gathered around Hutchinson as medical staff attended to him and transported him on the cart. He was immediately ruled out for the remainder of the game.

When the broadcast returned from a commercial break, the Fox network chose not to replay the injury.

At the time of the injury, the Lions were leading 34-6. Hutchinson, the second overall pick in the 2022 draft, had 6.5 sacks going into the game. He had recorded 11.5 sacks for Detroit last season and had a total of 27.5 sacks in his career.
