Breaking News: Tulsa Set to Terminate Head Coach Kevin Wilson

Tulsa is set to dismiss head coach Kevin Wilson, according to multiple reports on Sunday.

The Golden Hurricane ended their season with a 3-8 overall record (1-6 in the American Athletic Conference) and a 7-16 record during Wilson's two-year tenure as head coach, after suffering a 63-30 loss to South Florida on Saturday.

Despite gaining 478 yards against South Florida, Tulsa struggled with five turnovers and allowed a total of 715 yards.

Next Saturday, Tulsa will finish their season against FAU (2-9, 0-7).

Wilson, 63, had a record of 26-47, including two bowl game losses, during his six-year stint as head coach at Indiana (2011-2016). He also served as the offensive coordinator at Ohio State in between his head coaching jobs.

According to ESPN, wide receivers coach Ryan Switzer has been named interim head coach.

Switzer, 30, was a standout wide receiver at North Carolina and played in 41 NFL games (with one start) over three seasons with the Dallas Cowboys (2017) and Pittsburgh Steelers (2018-2019).
