'Jalen Milroe from Alabama and Carson Beck from Georgia Named to Maxwell Award Watch List'
The list, which was released on Monday by the Maxwell Football Club, includes three other 2023 semifinalists: Liberty's Kaidon Salter, Missouri's Luther Burden III, and Oklahoma State's Ollie Gordon II.
Miami and Ohio State lead the way with three candidates each, including Miami's Xavier Restrepo, Damien Martinez, and Cam Ward, and Ohio State's Will Howard, Quinshon Judkins, and Emeka Egbuka.
The Atlantic Coast Conference has the most candidates with 20, followed by the Southeastern Conference with 15, the Big 12 with 15, and the Big Ten with 12.
The semifinalists will be announced on November 12, the three finalists will be unveiled on November 26, and the winner of the 88th Maxwell Award will be revealed on December 12 as part of the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show.
The Maxwell Award, which was first presented in 1937, was awarded to Washington's Michael Penix Jr. in 2023.
