"Florida's Head Coach Billy Napier and Gator Team Facing Repercussions of Mistakes"

"Florida's Coach Billy Napier and the Gators Facing the Ramifications of Mistakes"

Florida head coach Billy Napier was a player in the FCS, and that is just one of the reasons why he is focused on Samford and blocking out any other distractions.

\"We have had a few days of practice and the players are eager to get back on the field and move on from our previous loss. I believe we have had a productive week,\" Napier stated.

Napier and Samford coach Chris Hatcher have been acquainted since Napier, a Georgia native who played at Furman, picked him up as a Clemson assistant before Hatcher spoke at a coaching clinic. Hatcher has been coaching at Samford for 10 seasons and has a record of 178-100 in his 24-year coaching career, which includes time at Georgia Southern, Valdosta State, and Murray State.

While Napier is not worried about his team's resilience, he does want to focus on specific areas as players deal with the disappointment of their home opener loss to Miami.

Napier believes it is crucial to \"remain objective\" after just one game.

\"It is important to shape the narrative to some extent,\" Napier explained. \"Ultimately, we need to prove ourselves on the field. We have another opportunity this Saturday.\"

Napier mentioned that the coverage and pass rush did not work well together in the loss to Miami and he wants to see more discipline when it comes to penalties. The Gators had two costly penalties in the first half that helped the Hurricanes gain momentum.

\"We have seen the consequences of making mistakes against a tough opponent,\" Napier acknowledged. \"Credit to Miami, their quarterback (Cam Ward) had an outstanding performance.\"
