Colorado star Travis Hunter first Big 12 POTW on offense, defense

Colorado's standout wide receiver and cornerback, Travis Hunter, received a special recognition on Monday for his impressive performance on both offense and defense.
Hunter was named the offensive player of the week in the Big 12, making him the first player in the conference's history to receive both offensive and defensive player of the week honors.
In Saturday's 34-23 victory over Cincinnati, Hunter played a total of 132 snaps and recorded a career-high of 153 receiving yards on nine receptions, including two touchdowns of 3 and 34 yards.
The Heisman Trophy contender, who was also named a consensus All-American in 2023, previously received the defensive award for his outstanding performance in Colorado's 28-9 win over Colorado State on September 14th. In that game, Hunter made five tackles, one interception, and one pass breakup.
So far this season, Hunter has accumulated 20 tackles, one tackle for loss, one forced fumble, two interceptions, and a conference-leading seven pass breakups. His contributions have helped Colorado reach a 6-2 record (4-1 in conference play) and become bowl eligible.
Despite battling a shoulder injury that has caused him to miss parts of games, Hunter leads the Big 12 with eight touchdown catches, is tied for first with 60 receptions, and ranks third with 757 receiving yards.
