The scheduled home game for Appalachian State against Liberty on Saturday has been called off due to the impact of Hurricane Helene.

According to a statement on the Mountaineers' official website, the game in Boone, N.C. will not be rescheduled.

Hurricane Helene, which was classified as a Category 4 hurricane, made landfall in Florida on Thursday night. However, the surrounding states were also affected. In preparation for potential flooding, damaging winds, and power outages, North Carolina governor Roy Cooper declared a state of emergency. Local media near Boone also reported widespread flooding on Friday morning.

Liberty (4-0) will resume play against FIU at home on October 8th, while Appalachian State (2-2) will travel to Marshall on October 5th.
