Freshman Brock Glenn, who is in his first year of eligibility after redshirting, will take the starting quarterback position for Florida State in their upcoming game against No. 15 Clemson. This comes as starter DJ Uiagalelei deals with a right hand injury, according to a report from ESPN on Monday.

According to the report, Uiagalelei suffered a broken finger on his throwing hand during Saturday's 42-16 loss to SMU and will be out for a few weeks. He is currently undergoing testing on his hand to determine the next steps.

During a press conference on Monday, coach Mike Norvell confirmed the injury but did not rule out Uiagalelei for the game against Clemson. He stated that Uiagalelei will be evaluated throughout the week. The depth chart released on Monday listed Uiagalelei and Glenn as co-starters.

It has been a difficult season for the Seminoles (1-4, 1-3 Atlantic Coast Conference), who were ranked No. 10 in the preseason Associated Press Top 25 poll. Uiagalelei, who transferred to Florida State after playing at Clemson and Oregon State, has struggled this season with a career-low 53.8 percent completion rate, 1,065 passing yards, four touchdowns, and six interceptions.

In the game against SMU, Uiagalelei completed 12 of 30 passes for 222 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions before leaving due to his injury. Glenn came in as his replacement but was unable to complete any of his four pass attempts.

Glenn saw action in five games in 2023, including starts in the ACC championship game and the Orange Bowl after Jordan Travis suffered a season-ending injury. He completed 19 of 51 passes (37.3 percent) for 229 yards and two interceptions last season.
