The Big Ten will not pursue any further measures against those involved in the postgame altercation between players from Michigan State and Michigan on Saturday.

The conference declared on Tuesday that its extensive examination of the video evidence from the incident in Ann Arbor was "inconclusive."

According to the Big Ten, "During the confrontation, athletes from both teams were on the ground and surrounded by so many individuals that both players were completely out of sight." The video analysis was unable to determine if any individual in the immediate vicinity of the two players on the ground deserved disciplinary action.

Despite the disappointing end to the game, the conference acknowledges the efforts of staff from both teams, security personnel, and game officials in quickly de-escalating the situation, as well as the responses of both head coaches. After discussing the matter with both schools, the Big Ten has decided not to take any further action.

In the final moments of Michigan's 24-17 win, Michigan State's defensive lineman Anthony Jones and Michigan's tight end Colston Loveland got into a scuffle, causing both teams to leave the sidelines as time ran out.

Loveland was seen headbutting Jones while wearing his helmet, and later in the commotion, Michigan's running back Kalel Mullings appeared to stomp on a player at the bottom of the pile.

The Big Ten's choice to drop the investigation means that both teams can now focus on their important games this Saturday.

Defending national champions Michigan (5-3, 3-2 Big Ten) will host No. 1 Oregon (8-0, 5-0), while Michigan State (4-4, 2-3) will face off against No. 13 Indiana (8-0, 5-0) in East Lansing, Michigan.
