"Severe Weather Forces G Nika Muhl to Be Placed on Suspended Roster"
Seattle Storm guard Nika Muhl will not be playing in the 2025 season as she has been placed on the suspended list on Tuesday.
Muhl, who is 24 years old, suffered an ACL tear while playing for Turkish club Besiktas in October. WNBA players who are injured while playing for other leagues can be put on the list if their recovery time is longer than six weeks.
During her rookie season, Muhl only played for 57 minutes in 16 games and scored two points on 1-of-14 shooting. She was selected as the 14th overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
Originally from Croatia, Muhl was a highly-regarded player during her college years at UConn and was twice named Big East Defensive Player of the Year.
In her 131 games (109 starts), Muhl averaged 5.8 points, 5.2 assists, and had a total of 187 steals. Her assists average was 7.9 in her junior year and 6.5 in her senior year.
