St. John's has secured the commitment of Dillon Mitchell, a transfer from Cincinnati, for the 2025-26 campaign.

Mitchell, a highly ranked prospect in the Class of 2022, becomes the fifth player to join head coach Rick Pitino's roster from the transfer portal.

Pitino expressed his excitement for Mitchell's addition, stating, "We are delighted to welcome Dillon Mitchell to our basketball family. He is one of the most hardworking and productive players in the nation, pound for pound and inch for inch. His experience and talent will be a great asset to our team."

Mitchell will join other transfers Ian Jackson (North Carolina), Bryce Hopkins (Providence), Joson Sanon (Arizona State), and Oziyah Sellers (Stanford) at St. John's. The team will also have All-Big East forward Zuby Ejiofor returning from last season.

The 6-foot-8 forward posted averages of 9.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in 35 starts for the Bearcats in his first season with the team in 2024-25. Prior to that, he spent two years at Texas.

Throughout his career at Texas and Cincinnati, Mitchell has averaged 7.9 points and 6.9 rebounds in a total of 107 games, with 106 of those being starts.
