"Kentucky Secures Commitment from Promising European Talent"
The Wildcats will have a global presence on the court next season, as one of the top European prospects has pledged to join Kentucky, according to ESPN on Saturday.
According to reports, six-foot-11 power forward Andrija Jelavi from Croatia will become a part of Kentucky's class of 2025.
Jelavi, who will turn 21 next month, brings with him a wealth of international experience.
In the past two seasons with Belgrade, Serbia-based Mega Superbet in the highly competitive Adriatic League, he has averaged 10.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals in 30 minutes per game over 53 games.
Jelavi, who boasts a 7-foot-2 wingspan, has also represented various Croatian youth national teams.
This news comes on the heels of four-star point guard Acaden Lewis' decision to decommit from the Wildcats on Friday, after initially committing to Mark Pope's team in November.
However, Kentucky has been actively recruiting in the transfer portal, recently adding Arizona State center Jayden Quaintance, Pitt guard Jaland Lowe, and forwards Kam Williams from Tulane and Mouhamed Dioubate from Alabama.
